Under the Morning Star - Red Fox by wildlife artist Bonnie Marris

Under the Morning Star by Bonnie Marris.

"The fox is one of my favorite animals. They're so innocent, yet so intelligent. They're real quick, intuitive little animals who really seem to have a reverence for life. When a friend of mine, who is a Sioux Indian, talks about the people of the earth - Heavenly Father's children, he calls them - he's talking about all living things. Whenever I think of that, I think of fox, because they are like little kids, they are so aware yet so playful." - Bonnie Marris.

Bonnie Marris' artistry took the image from there, dappling the dawn light on the red fox fur, the grass all around, and infusing the water's reflection with light. Her skill is apparent not only in the beautiful portrait of the animal, but also in its reflection in the water of the lake, where floating lily pads are in perfect contrast to the reflection. As a final touch, even the artist's signature is reflective.
