Sierak, S. Thomas

"I like to think that I'm portraying tomorrow's memories today" says artist S. Thomas Sierak.
Many people refer to the "good old days," but S. Thomas Sierak thinks these are

the good old days…of tomorrow. With that concept in mind, he finds and paints

the bonds between children, parents and grandparents, as well as moods and

feelings that are universal and timeless.

Sierak is a native of New England who graduated from the Vesper George School of

Art in Boston, then chose pastels as his medium of expression. He prefers the

somewhat rarefied technique because it allows him to draw and color at the same

time. They also project a "just-painted" look almost always and their colors

stay vibrant a good long time.

Many publishers, exhibitions and collectors have made note of his work. His

honors include the Pastel Society West Coast Award, the Edwin Harris Memorial

Award and "Best in Show" awards at the South Portland Art Festival in Maine and

the Chelmsford Fourth of July Art Show in Massachusetts. His art has graced

many a cover of Reminisce and Ideals magazines, as well as an issue of The

Artist’s Magazine. It also has been exhibited across the country as part of the

Art for the Parks tour, the Wild Wings Fall Festival and ArtExpo New York.
