"In this painting I wanted to capture that elusive time of day in the Tetons - twilight - when the elk are their most vocal, bugling as they gather. The colors and the light surrounding them will change dramatically in those few brief moments. In an instant, the last rays of the sun will retract behind the mountains, signaling day's end, as the moon stands by, ready to report for duty." - Rod Frederick.
