In spite of the somewhat unkept surroundings, Marris doesn't want anyone to misunderstand her intentions. Lady Marmalade became one of her fondest friends from the moment they met at Lady Marmalade's home - a beautiful farm, not too far from Bonnie's, run by Franciscan nuns. "People shouldn't have preconceptions about pigs," Bonnie says. "These animals have been popular favorites for years." 

 

"I wanted the painting to have almost a feeling of Rembrandt. I wanted to give Marmalade the dignity she deserved, because her smile and the look of intelligence in her blue eyes were real."
