Echoes of Sunset - Elk Herd by wildlife artist Rod Frederick

Echoes of Sunset by Rod Frederick.

“Through much of the year, I look forward to late autumn, when the thin mountain air cools quickly after sunset,” says Frederick. “The landscape’s colors intensify, and the chilling sounds of a bugling bull elk fills the meadow. I have seen elk during each of the seasons, but the image of their move from the higher mountain altitudes to their winter range is one which stays with me all the year through.”
