Buffalo Runners by Frank McCarthy
Buffalo Runners by Frank McCarthy.
Print released 1986.
The buffalo was the staff of life for Plains Indians, who developed a faily universal system for group hunting, well organized and policed by soldier societies for fairness. The ideal, not always attained, was a "surround," running buffalo in a circle until hunters had all the meat they needed.
