"On June 25th, 1876, the sun rose on a bright Montana morning. The Seventh Cavalry, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer, was arrayed on the high ground of the Little Wolf Mountians after an all-night march up the valley of the Rosebud. Crow scouts returned with alarming reports of a large encampment of Sioux and Cheyenne close by, along the Little Bighorn river.
