Black Eagle by Robert Bateman
Ictinaetus malayensis .
"This scene is based on a memorable experience early one morning in Africa. We visited a granite outcrop which was the home of a pair of black eagles. As the sun warmed their perches on the higher rocks, upward air currents were generated. Soon the eagles took off, riding the thermals, and gave us a wonderful display of flying skills as they hunted for prey." - Robert Bateman.
