El Lechero by George Hallmark

For years across northern Mexico and the southwestern United States, people who lived in many towns depended on individual vendors to supply daily food items, including dairy products.
Refrigerators were a luxury, and grocery stores could not be counted on to stock the freshest
items. As electricity became more common, so began the demise of small vendors. However,
in Mexico, if you are out at the right time, you can still catch a glimpse of an old milkman, or El Lechero and his burro going door-to-door with fresh milk, butter, and cream.
