"In this scene, I wanted to try to capture the mood and essence of Christmas - that shared human spirit and warmth - in a subtle, simplistic way. The snow-covered distance is to suggest journey's end. Festive lights, strung through the trees and outside the house, twinkle their greetings. Light from within the house radiates a warm welcome. Beyond, overlooking the valley, a majestic church glows the Christmas message: 'Peace on earth, good will to men.'" - T. Liess.
