"Illumination began one day when I was exploring one of my favorite florists. I was looking around, and I found these marvelous miniature calla lilies and absolutely fell in love with them. It seemed to me that they were like diamonds on stems...My painting has an ethereal quality to it that is rather spiritual, as if the flowers are being specially illuminated from heaven.
