On a recent trip to the United Kingdom, respected wildlife artist Bonnie Marris was delighted to find a beautiful Border Collie resting comfortably within the walls of a historic pub (built in 1300).

 

"I'm a real dog person," she explains, "so the hardest rule for me to follow is that I can't bring my dog everywhere with me. 'You allow dogs in the pub?' I asked the proprietor. He very calmly answered, 'Well, you can't very well lock your best friend out, now, can you?' At that moment, I vowed to paint this scene."
