Haysled - feeding the cattle in winter by artist Tucker Smith
Haysled by western artist Tucker Smith.
The painting shows two Percheron horses well matched in ability, training and teamwork; although mismatched in color. The ranch where this team is working is north of the little town of Avon, Montana, where the snow in winter makes it still necessary to feed the cattle by means of horses and sleds. Bob Goettle, the ranch manager takes great pride in his teams as can be seen in the harness trappings and condition of the horses. It is a painting of a task being well done.
