Buffalo Bill by James Bama

Although he was a Pony Express rider, Civil War scout and state actor, Willam "Buffalo Bill" Cody is best remembered as the colorful showman who entertained the world with his "Wild West Show." Annie Oakley, Chief Sitting Bull and other performers helped Cody enthrall audiences everywhere with sharpshooting, horse tricks and other forms of Western amusement. This painting portrays the great showman in his later years, sitting tall in the saddle and ready for action. The model I used is a 74-year old gentleman who played the role of Buffalo Bill in an exciting re-creation of Cody's Wild West Show held in Cody, Wyoming.
